CHIRSTMAS CRAFT VILLAGE

Hello everyone,

I apologise for not posting last week, our office was very busy. I will however, make up for it this week. So what’s been happening? We’ve flown an outhouse out to Fidra, a wee Island off the east coast.

Fidra Outhouse  

The Outhouse was flown out to Fidra lighthouse to be used as an accommodation hut for men working there temporarily. The building had to be built with a marine plywood exterior to withstand the elements. It had to be constructed in sections no bigger than 8' x 4' (2.4m x 1.2m) firstly, as this was the biggest size the helicoper could cope with lifting from ship to lighthouse rock and secondly, so that the same building can easily be dismantled and reassembled on other sites once the work at Fidra is complete.

Here is some feedback from the project manager:
'Here are a couple of pictures. The finished product couldn’t be better and all have admired it. Thanks, Grant and all involved in its manufacture'.

Next week we will be erecting 5 Garages at Strathallan School, I'll hopefully have pictures and Information for you by Friday.
